- Insert the SIM card.
- Insert the battery.
Before using the device, ensure the battery is fully charged. - Turn power on by holding the Power button for 2 seconds.
Activation is performed automatically and may take several minutes to complete.
Activation is complete when the LED indicator is green. - Devices may now connect to the MiFi 4510l via Wi-Fi.
The network credentials (SSID and password) are located on the back of the device.
Always utilize the IMEI listed on the bar code label located in the battery compartment.Device software version 2.16.07 (and earlier)- The password is the first 14-digits of the IMEI.
Device software version 2.28- New devices:
- The default password is 'admin'.
- The Wi-Fi/Admin password is on a label located on the back of the device or on a label located under the battery.
- Device Upgrade Utility (DUU) devices:
- The password is unchanged by the DUU, i.e., customer set password or the first 14-digits of the IMEI.
If the password is unknown perform a hard reset using the alternate method then use the IMEI minus the last digit.
- The password is unchanged by the DUU, i.e., customer set password or the first 14-digits of the IMEI.
Macintosh OS X
Windows - Launch a web browser then navigate to the MiFi Admin page.
From the browser Address/URL field enter 192.168.1.1. - Click Setup Wizard.
- Enter the MiFi password then click Next.
The default logins provided are simple and very well-known to hackers on the Internet. Change these settings immediately (perform the following steps).Device software version 2.16.07 (and earlier)- The default password is admin.
Device software version 2.28 - The default password is admin.
- New devices:
- The Wi-Fi/Admin password is on a label located on the back of the device or on a label located under the battery.
- The Wi-Fi/Admin password is on a label located on the back of the device or on a label located under the battery.

- To change Wi-Fi Settings:
- From the Network Name (SSID) field, enter an appropriate name.
- From the Security dropdown menu, select one of the following:
- WEP 64-bit:
- Network key: 5 ASCII characters or 10 HEX characters
- WEP 128-bit:
- Network key: 13 ACSII characters or 26 HEX characters
- WPA Personal/PSK:
- TKIP encryption; Network key: 8 - 63 ASCII characters
- WPA2 Personal/PSK:
- AES encryption; Network key: 8 - 63 ASCII characters
- WPA/WPA2 Mixed Mode:
- TKIP/AES encryption; Network key: 8 - 63 ASCII characters
- WEP 64-bit:
- From the Network Key field, enter the appropriate password then click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Allow the device to restart then connect to the Wi-Fi network utilizing the appropriate network name (SSID) and password.
Refer to Connecting to a Wi-Fi network for additional assistance. Select the appropriate operating system:
